In which Primo and I reminisce about being together for ten years almost to the day (because we met at our 20 year reunion and just had our 30th)

Primo: Ten years.

Me: Yep.

Primo: Ten years since we met.

Me: Yes.

Primo: I made you a really good grilled cheese sandwich the first time you came to visit.

Me: That was ten years ago.

Primo: It was when we took a break from [wxyz].

Me: That was ten years ago.

Primo: And you met me at the airport wearing nothing but a coat.

Me: That was ten years ago. AND a much warmer climate.

  1. Clearly the honeymoon is over.

For my husband and me the refrain is usually - That's because we had children.

    1. I had to laugh at this. One of my friends jokes that my husbands and I are still newlyweds, and I keep asking her when that will end. We will be celebrating our 10-year wedding anniversary (13.5 years of knowing each other) in a couple of months. At year 7, she told me that it would probably wear off soon....and three years later, she's still saying the same thing. She recently has started adding, "Okay, I think it's because you guys aren't having kids. You'll be newlyweds forever!"

Goldy, why haven't you been meeting Primo at the airport in a coat lately? He's been flying back and forth often enough! Don't blame the climate, because...well, you'll be wearing a coat! ;) (Just joking, although we've been having a pretty mild winter in general this year...)

  2. It's colder in some places though. Like right now it's snowing at my house in Canada. :( It gets WAY too cold here to wear just a coat. -30 - 40c is no joke.
