In which Doris gets us a colorful ceramic cat to go with the cast-iron cat

Not making this up. But at least it is not as big as the cast-iron cat, which is life sized.

The coup de grace: it is from her, Sly, and Primo's dead sister Nancy.

  1. *Wow*. You know, I read about the cast iron cat, and I was thinking - how bad can it be - since there wasn't a photo with it. But now I am prepared to believe.

  2. I followed you here from AAM and this is the first time I've commented but I just had to spin the laptop to show my husband this because I couldn't speak for laughing.

Merry Christmas, have a large drink and thank you for sharing. You deserve a medal.

  3. Could we have a photo of both cats side by side so we can compare?

Could you "accidentally" drop it and "oh what a shame it's broken, clumsy me"?

(Also here from AAM, long time reader)

  4. So glad to have you guys! A nosy mouse, Sly and Doris are too immobile to visit (thank God), so I can break the cat without an excuse!

  5. OMG! that is hideous! I'd laugh if it weren't so weird.

  6. I quite like the ceramic cat. Then again, it would fit with whimsical nature of our decor. It would also go well with my assorted cats and bunnies.

  7. You guys, although the cat is not to my taste - my mom keeps knick knacks and I had to dust them when I was a kid, so I am very anti knick knack, I am not against ceramic cats on principle. It's just that every time I think Doris can't send us something weirder or more unwanted, SHE DOES. She is amazing.

    1. And the fact that is was also from Primo's dead sister is super strange.

    1. Ha! Maybe! There is so much junk in that house that I cannot memorize it all. But Doris signed Nancy's name to the card. I guess it's her way of saying that Nancy is with us in spirit, even though Sly is an ardent atheist and I have never heard Doris contradict him.
